Midori Green DNA Stain is a new and safe alternative for staining of DNA fragments in agarose gels. In contrast to ethidium bromide Midori Green does not show a mutagenic effect in the so called Ames test. Midori Green is as sensitive as ethidium bromide and can be used completely analogous. You do not need new equipment in the laboratory. Midori Green is also suitable for staining of single-stranded nucleic acid.
